Know-How › Language variations
Language or release variations can be realized cost-efficiently with images and layout staying in place.
At best only printing plates for text (i.e. black) have to be changed.
Learn how to create appropriate data with our info on single or multi-colour plate change for language or release variations:
Here's how it works perfectly:
- Construct the picture part as a neutral document without any texts.
- Consign all text and all elements pertaining to the language switch to a separate PDF document. This not only applies to all languages but also the master version!
- Please take care that no picture boxes from the neutral picture part are included in the language versions since these elements could subsequently overlap and cover images.
Important: Are there pages or parts of pages which differ between languages (i.e. contain different pictures or picture positions)? In such cases we ensure that these pages are processed separately as complete pages. Bring these to the special attention of your customer service representative.
These steps enable us to bring the neutral picture mode and text documents together during imposition at the signastation via the layer control.
Thus identical picture data with the same status for all languages is always used and out of register pictures prevented.
We process all data via the Printready workflow. This workflow guarantees the integrity of the formplot i.e. the formplot and the exposed printing plate are identical.
The steps described above secure a smooth PDF workflow to facilitate speedy and punctual production of your order.
Please supply us with:
- PDF-X3 or PDF (print optimised, all texts embedded) with trim and cutting marks.
- If required you may download the settings for Acrobat Distiller at our website
